The critics
love this speaker … and so do we!
The goal for
the designer was to get the midrange right, and there’s no question in our
minds … mission accomplished.
Everyone says that the music is in the midrange, and while true, that
alone does not make a spectacular speaker. A spectacular speaker must have it all, and this Nola Boxer
fits the bill. It is open,
detailed, and incredibly engaging.
It also combines this with punch and weight on the bottom end giving
it a very full sound for a standmounted speaker. As a bonus, it is also easy to drive and can lend itself
to either solid-state amplifiers or low-powered tube amps. And most importantly, these puppies
really make music, and that’s what it’s all about. Toe-tapping musicality and a beautiful piano cherry finish
make this speaker a gem for any music lover.
Positive Feedback – The Neurotic Listener review – “If
you're looking for a pair of standmount monitor
speakers and you have about $1500 to spend, buy the Nola Boxers. End of
review.”
Positive Feedback – Sonic Satori
review – “…as far as the midrange; the place where most music
lives—this speaker is simply magical.”
AVguide - First Listen – “But my oh my does this Boxer play music.”
AVguide – Two Counter-Punchers – “Its overall sonic character is unerringly musical,
midrange-ripe with a fine balance of warmth and detail and the propulsive
energy of a finely-honed athlete.”
