The E1X Stereo amplifier is designed in a sleek all-aluminum chassis using our unique constrained layer damping that provides the highest quality anti-vibration platform for high-power amplification. The E1X discrete SSHC (Single Stage High Current) input amplifier and output stage are combined with switch mode power that produces 250W 8 ohms and 500W into 4 ohms per channel, delivering incredible high-power accuracy and musicality to your loudspeaker.
The highly efficient E1X Amplifier is designed with many bespoke technologies and is always in a ready state for high performance operation. The E1X Amplifier is designed to drive any loudspeaker with ultra-low noise, high power amplification delivering full musical detail from your source to your loudspeaker.
The high efficiency of Class D eliminates thermal modulation, making the E1X amplifier resistant to output stage bias wander and sonic ghosting. The output power devices are operating as efficient switches, in that few output devices are needed to deliver considerable audio power. The E1X Amplifier is designed with ultra-short signal paths and uses the absolute minimum number of output devices to deliver over 500 watts of audio power without loss of dynamics, remaining true to the audio source.
High Dynamic Range - Low Noise and Distortion: The single stage architecture of our linear switching power stage has remarkable audio band noise characteristics. With high dynamic range and vanishingly low IMD and THD distortion hear-through performance is delivered.
Our proprietary SSHA (Single Stage High-Current Amplifier) interposer defines the sonic quality of the E1X Amplifier. This is a very fast, low noise amplifier with a single-stage folded cascode architecture and over 500mA of peak current output capability. It maintains constant very low distortion levels through the audio band because of its high open-loop bandwidth. The SSHA module brings a further element of dynamic resolution and contrast to the NCore Amplifier power buffer. The vertical modular design permits a tight, efficient Printed Circuit Board (PCB) layout that combines the best of IC based and discrete component design. The PCB represents a final degree of design refinement that is especially critical when the circuit is capable of 130dB of dynamic range or more.

For those that want all the features and flexibility of the Bel Canto Black components at a more affordable price, the e1X series is a great solution. While lower in price than the Black or Black EX series….make no mistake, these are very high quality components.
An ideal partner to the e1X DAC / Control Preamp as the two are obviously built to match each other. Tremendous power to drive speakers with authority and control, but also musical density and natural warmth while still providing plenty of detail and transparency. The Bel Canto e1X Stereo Amplifier will give you the traits you desire in high-end amplification all without the massive size, back-breaking weight, heat and power consumption of competing products.
