Chris Jones - Moonstruck

If you've attended audio shows in the past, you have probably heard the much overplayed track "No Sanctuary Here" from Chris Jones' stellar album "Roadhouses & Automobiles". The album highlighted here, "Moonstruck" was released three years prior, but for some reason haven't seen this until recently. Much like "Roadhouses & Automobiles", "Moonstruck" is one of those albums made for a high-end system. Play the first couple tracks and you'll wish all albums were produced this well. If you like this, definitely check out more albums from artists on the Stockfisch Records label. They have consistently incredible recordings.

HAEVN - Eyes Closed

HAEVN - Eyes Closed

A Netherlands-based duo consisting of a singer-songwriter and film soundtrack composer. The album contains not only the duo, but many tracks also include the Hungarian Studio Orchestra. So, at times you get a soundtrack feel, but with soothing vocals as well that is both enveloping and relaxing at the same time. The production is large scale and reminiscent of something familiar. When I found out they used Tim Bran, the producer behind London Grammar, it all made sense. The opening track will let you know how good of a job your system does at presenting a massive sound. Then, as another test, if you can't feel the incredibly deep bass from the immediate start of "Sinner Love", maybe a JL Audio sub should be in your future. ??

Zachary Cale - False Spring

Zachary Cale - False Spring
An accomplished guitarist and a poetic songwriter makes for a winning combination. A fairly slick production with reverb drenched guitar at times, but not overdone. Overall, a very solid album and worth checking out if you're into singer-songwriter guitarists. Find it on Tidal here: https://tidal.com/browse/album/137715401

Justin Hinds and The Dominoes - Travel with Love

Originally known for songs from the ska and rocksteady era, this album from 1984 is clearly in the roots reggae vibe. Mastered again in 2018 with previously unreleased material, this is an absolute gem with better production than you typically see in this genre.
