The Hegel A200 is a fully analog, 150W-per-channel integrated amplifier designed for listeners who want simplicity, control, and a dedicated signal path. It omits all digital features—no DAC, no streaming—so each source component can define the system’s character. With SoundEngine2 distortion-cancellation, high current capability, and a damping factor over 4000, it delivers clean, stable, and highly controlled amplification. It includes quality analog connectivity, a serious MM phono stage, a headphone output, and practical usability features like input level presets, TV-remote volume learning, and customizable display dimming. The A200 is the “classic route”: pure analog focus, maximum loudspeaker control, and everyday ease of use.
Purpose & philosophy
• Built for listeners who want a pure analog amplifier with no digital sections.
• Allows the user to choose their own DAC, streamer, or analog sources.
• Focuses on simplicity, stability, and signal purity.
Amplifier architecture
• 150W Class A/B per channel.
• SoundEngine2 actively cancels distortion at the point of origin.
• Stable down to 2 ohms, maintaining composure with demanding speakers.
• Damping factor >4000 for tight bass control and precise driver behavior.
Connectivity
• All analog inputs: 2× XLR, 2× RCA.
• Outputs: fixed RCA (recording/secondary system) and variable RCA (subwoofer or external amp).
• Headphone output included.
Phono stage
• High quality MM phono input derived from the Hegel V10.
• Low noise, hand matched FET gain stages.
• Treated as a serious, performance oriented feature—not an afterthought.
Usability & everyday features
• Assignable fixed input levels for home theater integration.
• Learns TV remote volume commands.
• Startup/max volume limits.
• Auto standby.
• Customizable, auto dimming display.
Position in the lineup
• The “Classic” path compared to the H200 (the connected sibling).
• Same core amplifier performance, but no digital section—pure analog focus.
• Designed to let each source shine without interference.
