Taken on trade in excellent condition. Only the tiniest two little marks on the top back circled in a photo. You probably wouldn't have even noticed, but we still want to disclose. Otherwise, in beautiful condition with full packaging and accessories.
One owner. Retail when we sold it was $5,590 ... used price $1,999 plus applicable tax.
Known not only for high-res PCM, but especially a completely separate 1-bit conversion for DSD handling rates up to DSD512. When it came out, it was considered to be one of the best DSD DACs in existence and still plays at an incredibly high level. You can use it as a standalone DAC or DAC/preamp as the analogue volume control is of very high quality based on high-end Melf resistors.
Our customer was using it as a DAC/preamp into a pair of ATC active speakers with excellent results. He has now moved to a much more expensive piece. No ordinary DAC was going to be a worthwhile upgrade in this scenario.
Stereophile – Class A+
"… I can't fault the DAC 8 DSD's sound—it sits comfortably with the sounds of more expensive products…And the DAC 8 DSD provided the best sound from DSD that I've heard.”
Audiostream
“…the T+A grabbed me, shook me (well that was actually the music's domain), and didn't let go. Consider the DAC 8 DSD highly recommended for a very long term audition of your music's guts and glory.”
Fidelity Magazine
“I can only say that with the DAC 8 DSD, T+A has come up with a leading DAC converter regardless of what price range you consider.”
